Allen's Damsel, Pomacentrus alleni, is a small, iridescent, neon blue-colored damselfish with a lightning yellow underbelly. This fish has many other common names including Electric Blue Damsel, Yellow Belly Damsel, or just the Neon Damsel. The Allen's Damsel holds the namesake of Dr. Gerald Allen who is considered the world's preeminent scholar and researcher on damselfish. These fish are semi-aggressive, will eat most meaty and herbivore diets, need some amount of hiding places in at least a 20 gallon tank, and may become territorial with smaller fish, so it is best to monitor those relationships. Allen's Damsel is a very popular fish to house and is often considered a good fish for novice and expert hobbyists alike.
