The Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura, has a multitude of common names including the Blueheaded Fairy Wrasse, Ruby Head Fairy Wrasse, Purplehead Fairy Wrasse, Yellow Flanked Fairy Wrasse, and Purplehead Parrotfish. As its abundance of common names suggest, the Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse features a wide array of bright and vibrant colors including blue sides and a blue belly.
The Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse is best kept in a tank of at least 50 gallons with plenty of live rock hiding places and a sandy substrate. Lids should be tightly sealed to prevent potential escapes.
They are peaceful with other fish, corals, and inverts making them a great choice for a community tank. Hogfish species may harm them, however.
