The Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse, Paracheilinus carpenteri, also known as the Carpenteri Flasher Wrasse and Carpenters Flasher Wrasse, exhibits vastly different body patterns between its juvenile and adult stage. Juveniles feature an orange body with blue vertical stripes that become yellow with blue horizontal stripes as the wrasse matures. It is very good jumper, so an aquarium with a closed lid is necessary to prevent it jumping out of the tank accidentally. It is not that aggressive toward non-related species, and is best to keep the Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse with peaceful tank mates, and usually only one male is advised to keep in a tank to avoid aggressive behavior. The Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse should feed on finely chopped meats and live or frozen brine and mysis shrimps. It thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit, and pH of 8.1-8.4. The Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse is a favorite fish for every reef tank, and is a great substitute for harder to keep Anthias.
