The Derasa Clam (Tridacna derasa) is a beautiful addition to any reef tank - They have varying colors and designs, some being gold and blue, while others are green or orange. They can reach size of 24 inches in the wild, though this is uncommon in the home aquarium. They require plenty of nutrients in the water column and high lighting; if kept in nutrient-poor waters, supplemental feeding may be necessary. They should only be kept with reef safe fish in established aquariums.
