The Gold Rim Tang is also commonly known as the whitecheek surgeonfish and powder gray surgeonfish. The Gold Rim Tang is one of the most aggressive surgeonfish, and therefore should be kept separate from other tangs. It is very aggressive towards similar shaped fishes, surgeons, or tangs. The Gold Rim Tang requires a tank with lots of open space to swim with strong and rapid water flow, as well as plenty of spaces to hide in. It can be fed spirulina, zucchini, broccoli, leaf lettuce, and dried seaweed.
