The Golden Blue Line Hawkfish (Paracirrhites xanthus), also known as the yellow hawkfish or blueline yellow hawkfish. This stunning species, belonging to the Cirrhitidae family, can be found in the eastern central Pacific and is highly sought after in the aquarium trade. With a maximum length of 5 inches, the yellow hawkfish boasts a vivid yellow hue adorned with subtle horizontal lines and a striking short violet-blue stripe behind its eye. This solitary fish is a master of camouflage, perching on top of corals to patiently await its prey, which primarily consists of small crustaceans. They are reef safe with caution and require a minimum tank size of 30 gallons. They should not be kept with other hawkfish as they are territorial. You can feed them a mixture of frozen thawed brine shrimp, mysis, and other meaty foods.
