Traditional filter socks or pads can quickly become clogged with detritus, uneaten food, and particulate matter. An automatic fleece filter roller regularly replaces dirty fleece with clean fleece, ensuring that water is always being filtered through clean material. The result is crystal clear water, decreased nutrient build-up, and much less maintenance.
The ReefMat comes fully assembled. Its compact footprint allows it to be placed in smaller sumps with minimal modifications, or in some cases, no modification at all. Each included fleece roll should last roughly 5-8 weeks on a moderately stocked reef system; however, bare-bottom tanks will typically exhaust rolls at a faster rate. Additionally, usage rate may be significantly higher for the first few weeks after installing a ReefMat while your system adjusts to the new level of mechanical filtration.

ReefBeat notifies you not only when the fleece needs maintenance, but also if it should get stuck or torn. If any error occurs, the motor will simply not attempt to feed any more fleece until the issue is resolved. The end of Roll Monitor function lets you know the daily average use, and how many days you have left before the filter roll runs out so you can plan ahead.
Flexible Installation
The ReefMat 250 is designed to hang on a sump wall to conserve space, but also includes mounting legs, so you can place the ReefMat anywhere in your sump where space is available. Both the drive unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat, making installation work a breeze for any sump setup.
