Tube Anemone
Cerianthus anemones are found in tropical and temperate oceans, with species distributed in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. They prefer soft substrates such as sandy or muddy bottoms, where they construct protective tubes in which they live. Cerianthus anemones are non photosynthetic and carnivorous they primarily feed on small prey, such as zooplankton and tiny marine organisms. They use their long, stinging tentacles to capture passing prey, which is then brought to the mouth for digestion.
Cerianthus Anemones are commonly referred to as Tube or Burrowing Anemones. They are occasionally collected for the aquarium trade. Their color can vary among species and individuals, but they are often seen in shades of brown, tan, green or white. Their column and tentacles may have various patterns and colorations. These anemones come in various sizes, with some individuals having a relatively small column and others growing much larger.
