Ultum Nature Systems Controsand is a line of decorative sand substrates designed for use in planted aquariums and aquascaping. Monterey Controsand is a larger gravel that contains a mixture of neutral tones, predominantly shades of beige to light brown granules with dark accents. This gravel blend takes inspiration from the beaches of coastal regions. Its larger granule size makes it suitable for standalone accent use against an even-toned base substrate, or it can be mixed in with a fine grain sand like UNS Controsand Bora for added texture and dimension. It also compliments vibrantly colored aquatic plants and livestock.

Whether you're setting up your first aquascape, or you've been in the hobby for years, Controsand is easy to use. Just rinse the substrate gently to remove finer grains, then distribute to specific areas as a natural accent.
